Why safety razor instead of cartridge?

Is it difficult to use?

Needs 2-3 weeks adjustment. Hold at 30° angle, let the weight do the work (no pressure). With good cream and brush, results are excellent.

What is aggressive vs mild?

Aggressive razors have larger blade gap — closer shave but require technique. Mild razors are more forgiving — ideal for beginners. Parker is mild-to-medium, Mühle R89 balanced.

Open comb vs closed comb?

Open comb (with teeth) — for dense beard, more aggressive. Closed comb (safety bar) — more mild, ideal for daily use and beginners. Most razors are closed comb.

How often do I change the blade?

Every 3-7 shaves depending on beard density. When you feel tugging instead of smooth glide, it's time for a new blade. Don't economize on blades!
