MERKUR 34C Heavy Duty

The MERKUR 34C Heavy Duty is a two-piece safety razor with a closed comb, brass handle and polished chrome finish.

Construction and function

The two-piece construction allows the head to be opened using the screw at the bottom of the handle. The 34C takes standard double-edge blades, and its weight helps guide shaving movements without additional pressure.

The head is die-cast zinc and the surfaces are electroplated with polished chrome. The tool weighs 78 g and measures 81 × 43 × 25 mm overall. It is made in Germany.

The opening beneath the blade facilitates lather flow, making hair and residue easier to rinse away. The closed-comb head is an option for classic wet shaving.

Directions

With your hands and the razor completely dry, turn the screw at the base of the handle anticlockwise and remove the cap. Hold the blade by its unsharpened sides. Fit the new blade by aligning its holes with the locating pins, then secure the cap by turning the screw clockwise without overtightening.

Wet the area with warm water and apply shaving soap or foam. Allow a few minutes for the hairs to soften. Move the razor in straight strokes, at approximately 30° to the skin, without additional pressure. Rinse the head between strokes.

Care

To remove greasy soap residue, use hair shampoo or mild washing-up liquid. Avoid acidic cleaners, as they damage the surfaces.

Precautions

Do not use circular movements or move along the cutting edge of the blade: these can cause injury.
