Iris, violet, geranium and mate fill the heart, while the base rests on amber, cedar, patchouli and sandalwood. Stirling themselves call it the most office-friendly scent in their range, meaning discreet rather than assertive. The soap base is the traditional wet shaving recipe: beef tallow and lanolin, alongside shea butter, almond oil, castor oil and coconut milk.

The Inspiration — Countless Test Batches:

Stirling Soap Company began in January 2012 with Roderick and Amanda Lovan. They worked through numerous recipes and suppliers while testing batches, argued over crafting styles, pouring methods and storage, and kept notes from their own use as well as feedback from their testers. What survived all of that is what they sell today.

How to Use:

Soak your brush in warm water and shake off the excess. Load directly from the soap using circular motions for 20 to 30 seconds. Build the lather in a bowl or on the face, adding water a little at a time until it turns dense and creamy.
