The Fascinating History of Eight & Bob
Albert Fouquet was a member of the French elite of the early 20th century. In a room on the upper floor of the family castle, with the help of Philippe, the family butler, he created and perfected various essences exclusively for personal use. At social events, he impressed everyone with his exquisite fragrance that became increasingly sought after in the exclusive social circles he frequented. However, Fouquet continuously rejected proposals to commercialize his fragrance.
Albert travels to Chile and discovers the rare "Andrea" plant in the Andes, which would become the soul of Eight & Bob fragrance.
Meeting with JFK on the French Riviera. Young Kennedy is captivated by Albert's fragrance and receives a sample with the note: "In this bottle, you will find the dash of French glamour that your American personality lacks."
JFK requests "eight samples and if your production allows, another one for Bob" (Robert Kennedy). The fragrance becomes known in Hollywood through JFK's father.
Albert dies in a car accident near Biarritz. Philippe continues production for a few months.
During World War II, Philippe hides the bottles inside books he carefully cuts by hand to prevent them from being confiscated by the Nazis.
