What is wet shaving?

Wet shaving is the traditional method using a safety razor or straight razor, brush, and cream/soap. It gives a closer shave with less irritation and lower long-term cost.

What do I need to start?

Basics: safety razor, brush, cream/soap, and blades. Optional: pre-shave oil, after shave, and stand. Starter kits include everything.

Safety razor or cartridge?

Safety razors need some practice but give closer shave at €0.10-0.50/blade. Cartridge razors are easier but refills cost more.

What's the right technique?

Prep with hot water, build lather with brush, shave with the grain (first pass), light hand without pressure. Rinse with cold water and apply after shave.

How do I avoid irritation?

Good prep, sharp blade, light hand, shave with grain. Avoid multiple passes on same spot. Use balm for moisture after.
